Anshan Normal University

Anshan Normal University(ANU), founded in 1958, is a higher normal university which mainly provides undergraduate programs. It is situated in Anshan city, Liaoning province, which shares the awards of National Excellent Tourism City and National Clean City. It is also proud of enjoy five main tourism resources including world largest Jade Buddha, famous Asian hot spring, picturesque Mt. Qian, one of the producing areas of China’s Jade and the Capital of Iron and Steel. The university was approved to offer Master of Education Degree and became the first testing institute for the program of “Serving Program for National Special Needs Talents” in terms of Master of Early Childhood Education among undergraduate-level universities around the country on October 17, 2011. In September 2013, ANU was entitled to admit Chinese Government Scholarship students. The university occupies 684,000 sq.m., including 324,000 sq.m building area. Currently, the university has 14 academic schools, 3 sections for public teaching and researching, 40 undergraduate programs and 28 advanced vocational programs in 7 subjects such as arts, history, science, engineering, law, education and management. 2 affiliated schools are as follows: School of Health and a junior middle school. There are approximately 20,000 full time students in different varieties and 2,000 full time professional instructors, among whom there are approximately 500 instructors with superior qualifications. Meanwhile, the university invites several world widely prestigious experts and masters from the Academy of Sciences of China as the visiting professors. At present, there are 2 provincial supported key subjects, 2 provincial advanced key subjects, 15 university constructing key subjects. Over 100 students are awarded Doctor’s or Master’s Degrees throughout joint education programs between our university and other 13 universities around the country. Since 2003, the university has been responsible for 600 scientific projects at different levels. Four are the national funded projects of natural sciences, one is the national funded project of social sciences and over 800 academic papers have been published in national core journals. The university has recruited over 2000 international students from 21 countries. It has also established friendly collaborative ties with over 40 universities and educational institutes from more than 20 countries, such as USA, UK, Korea, Russia and Australia. Currently, the university has started substantial cooperation with the University of the West of Scotland (UK), Daegu University (Korea), University of Alabama at Birmingham (USA), University of Ballarat (Australia), Lipetsk State Pedagogical University (Russia), Kyrgyz National University (Kyrgyz) and Asia University (Japan) so as to foster the international exchange of science & technology, culture and education.
